MOBILE CLINIC

Before the pandemic hit, OSPA had transport of their own and weekly mobile clinics were carried out around the island.
The OSPA team visited the shanty towns and slums on a weekly basis, taking supplies to help the local people and their pets and any strays that were found.
The animals, including dogs, cats, horses, cows, goats and pigs. They were given a good meal, fresh water, checked for fleas and ticks, eyes and ears cleaned and treated with flea/worm/mange treatments. Minor wounds were cleaned and dressed and any animals with injuries that were more serious were taken to the island vet for treatment paid for from OSPA funds.
Unfortunately, due to the effects of the pandemic on the island with no visitors bringing donations, the vehicle was sold to help pay for food.
We have a dream, a very big dream, that one day we will have enough funds in the bank to be able to purchase and run our own vehicle, which we can equip with all the treatments and equipment needed and begin to carry out the mobile clinics again.
